Costa Rica has about 112 mountains considered as volcanoes. There are six of them in activity. Arenal Volcano is most active volcano in the Central America region and among the most active volcanoes in the world. The tour starts at 9:30 a.m. We pick up in most hotels in San José. We drive for one hour towards the Panamerican Highway, then we head to the La Fortuna Town, located at the base of the volcano. We will stop in a restaurant along the way to have a delicious lunch. The road offer an awesome lanscape, a chance to take your camera and get the best photos of Costa Rica. Our well trained and knowledgeable tour guide will spot sloth and monkeys for you. Once in La Fortuna Town, from our observation point, you will feel the ground tremble and see the night sky explode with ash and lava in a natural display of fireworks. Depending on the power of the explosion, sometimes you can feel the smell of sulphur gas in the air or see the flakes of ashes falling from the clouds of smoke from the eruptions. Next, we will visit the Hot Springs of the Volcano, where you can relax in the soothing waters and be caressed by the cool night while observing the stars high above the splendor of Arenal . There are several pools, each with different temperatures so you can choose which one you like the better. At a convenient time, after the hotsprings, we will treat you to a splendid dinner.
