Butterfly Farm

Costa Rica is world wide famous for protecting its flora and fauna. Butterflies are not an exception. Many people has dedicated to work on butterfly farms in order to protect, study, and export them.

Now you can find butterfly farms everywhere you go in Costa Rica. Our climate and vegetation allow us to have millions of butterflies flying all over the country and making natural ornaments in our gardens, road sides and jungles.

At "Finca de Mariposas" all visitors receive a two-hour guided tour in an enclosed tropical garden filled with hundreds of butterflies. Topics discussed are butterfly natural history,the farm's operations and of course,"who buys live butterflies" .

On export days, visitors to the butterfly farm will be able to see the sorting and packing of thousands of butterflies.

Watch carefully, find yourself butterfly eggs, pay attention to the tour guide, observe carefully and become an expert in butterfly care and reproduction.
